Indications of Fritillaria Extract Powder (Chuan Bei Mu) in TCM
1. Moisturizing the lungs and resolving phlegm
Used for Yin deficiency and lung heat, with persistent coughing and sticky phlegm, or blood streaks in the phlegm, thin body, dry mouth and throat. Hoarse voice, or hot flashes and night sweats, can be taken with equal parts of Zhimu powder, or with lung moistening and cough relieving drugs such as Ophiopogon japonicus, Polygonatum odoratum, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Aster, Lonicera japonica, and Rehmannia glutinosa.
Used for cough caused by dryness of the lungs, with symptoms such as insufficient and viscous sputum, bloody sputum, fever and chills, chest pain, burnt lips, dry nose and throat, fever in hands and feet, restlessness and sleeplessness, hot flashes and night sweats. It can be used equally with Zi Wan, Kuan Dong, Xing Ren, Mai Dong, Di Gu Pi and Bai Wei..
Used in the late stage of pulmonary abscess, with symptoms such as hot flashes and coughing, vomiting pus, blood, and phlegm. It can be used equivalently with Lu Gen, Huang Qi, Yu Zhu, Yi Yi Ren and Dong Gua Ren.
